HOW TO GO ABOVE (OR BELOW) AND BEYOND IN EVENT MARKETING

10 Vnue

We chartered a private 737 and took 80 business and marketing professionals to a surprise location. They had no idea where they were going when they got to the airport… We threw an epic reveal party announcing that we were taking them to TUSCANY, where family is life. We immersed them in solving real business problems via participant-driven exercises and think tanks. Why did we do this? People tell us that when they leave an HD Signature event, they feel like family. And every family needs a family reunion… and what’s a family reunion without some fun surprises? So we created Haute Dokimazo Secret Family Reunion. In November 2019, we took 80 event and marketing professionals on a chartered plane to a secret international location. They met us at the TWA Hotel at JFK airport and we whisked them away for a week-long Signature event in Tuscany! Why did we create this experience? Because we believe that events are broken. We believe that humans are more digitally connected and humanly disconnected than ever before, and our industry perpetuates that by driving attendees into a listen-only mode and forcing them onto their phones throughout the event. We wanted to show the world that you could get business professionals to disconnect for a few days, make genuine human connections with perfect strangers, and solve business problems together. We never imagined how successful this experiment would be! The new family bond that was created has spawned reunions, business outings, and millions of dollars in business opportunities between family members.

The event included various WWII military aircraft, vehicles and 1940’s era cars on display, 1940’s style cocktails, delicious coffee concoctions, big band music and of course dancing was featured. To complement the mood and ambiance, all attendees were encouraged to dress in 1940s attire.

The reception was held in the Scottsdale Airport Veterans Memorial and the event in Gemini’s hangar located at the Scottsdale Airport, which originally opened June 22nd, 1942, as Thunderbird Field II, an Army Air Corps training facility.  Over 5,500 AAC pilots trained in the Stearman PT-17 aircraft. The Thunderbird Field II Veterans Memorial commemorates this rich history of the Scottsdale Airport and honors all veterans.

The event celebrated all veterans as well as the birthday of the United States Marine Corp. The event featured a Live and Silent Auction and other opportunities for participants to support Thunderbird Field II Veterans Memorial.

Steve Ziomek, Chairman of Thunderbird Field II Veterans Memorial board said, “The Swing Time Gala at the Scottsdale Airport captured the mood and ambiance of an era known for Big Bands, Swing Dancing and Men and Women serving their country” and went on to say, “Scottsdale was at the very heart of training Army Air Corp pilots for war and deserves to have a true Veterans Memorial that the community as a whole can be proud of.

It really happened.

Local event planner’s fraud complaint gets AG’s attention

In the two years since she claims she fell victim to identity theft at the hands of a former business partner, a Scottsdale event planner has struggled to convince law enforcement to take her case seriously.

Just weeks ago, following multiple inquiries from the Progress, the Arizona Attorney General’s office confirmed it was looking into allegations of identity theft levied by Karen May against former business partner David Mark White.

May alleged White, who also goes by Mark White, used her personal information to take out hundreds of thousands of dollars in loans online and in San Diego and both Phoenix Police and San Diego Police failed to follow up on her allegations.
